This delightfully unique terracotta pot, handcrafted by our Italian artisans in Impruneta exclusively for us, it boasts a distinctive shape. The Coppa Rigata deserves a pedestal, raised to eye level or placed on a table-top, to fully admire its beautiful contours. Whether in winter or summer, it casts a charming shadow, promising to please you for years to come.
Our Impruneta pots and vases are made with the superb Galestro clay which is found locally in Impruneta. There is no other ingredient, just the three elements are needed to craft our pots, earth, water and fire and then the skill of our artisans to shape the clay by hand to form the pots. We’re proud to share that this production is made ethically.
Galestro clay from Impruneta is known for its soft pink colour and grainy texture. It’s strong, heavy, and weathers beautifully, developing a charming patina over time. Terracotta is a naturally porous material and the perfect partner for plants, allowing roots to breathe and grow while helping maintain optimal conditions.
We love to plant seasonal plants in our Coppa Rigata, because of its proportions, changing the planting scheme is simple and only needed twice a year, once in late spring after the tulips and spring bulbs have finished and then again in the autumn after the summer bedding display is over. If you don’t want to plant directly in the pot, you can always try a ‘pot in a pot’ method. Simply plant up a slightly smaller pot, preferably plastic, and place it inside the Coppa Rigata. This way, you can quickly switch out the planting scheme whenever you like.
Wherever possible we like to deliver our pots personally, this makes life much easier for our clients, we do the heavy lifting and placing for you. A personal service also means we can coordinate smoothly when arranging delivery dates and times. In today’s digital world, this is a refreshing change for our customers.
