Our story...

Vaso Toscano is the collaboration of Julie Haythorn and Mark Macdonald of Todd’s Botanics. Mark, along with the help of Julie has been running the award winning plant nursery Todd's Botanics for the past 20 years. Todd’s has been importing beautiful ancient olive, citrus and bay trees as well as growing unusual herbaceous plants and exhibiting at major RHS shows such as Chelsea and Hampton Court for a number of years. 

Along the way we have gained some great awards from Chelsea and Hampton Court.

A love of Italian and Mediterranean gardens and a desire for good design lead us to search for great Italian terracotta planters and vases to compliment our plants. Our quest for high quality products lead us to two places; Impruneta, near Florence in Tuscany, famous for it’s fine ‘galestro’ clay and a small family run 'fornace' in Siena both of which still make amazing pots by hand.

We have carefully put together a collection of terracotta pots to suit all styles of garden, whether contemporary or traditionally designed. We can also match a wide range of wonderful plants to go in the pots.

Olive, bay and citrus trees look amazing in terracotta and have always been the traditional choice which has never faltered or gone out of fashion, but in theory most plants or trees can be containerised and we can provide all the help and advice you need to help make your choice.
