The stunning, voluptuous Sfera, one of our absolute favourite planters. A most unusual, ribbed terracotta pot which has a very wide, rounded shape and large aperture for ease of planting. It has great proportions and would really look beautiful in a contemporary, modern garden as well as the more traditional garden setting. This is a perfect pot for the terrace, it is exclusively made for us in our family run pottery. This beautiful terracotta pot is hand crafted with the best Galestro clay from Impruneta, Tuscany. It is a large pot and certainly makes a grand statement in the garden.
The strength of the Galestro clay and the high firing temperatures ensure the terracotta is strong and frost proof, and made to last a lifetime.
The best way to plant up this pot, is with a 'pot within a pot' technique, simply place a smaller pot inside the Sfera so the top of the interior pot is a few inches below the terracotta pot's rim. Fill with seasonal colour for constant drama or if preferred a fountain-shaped plant, such as Agapanthus or Palm for a longer lasting display. We recommend not to plant straight into the pot because it is difficult to remove the plant once it has filled the sides. The pot within the pot makes changing the planting display very efficient.
We love to deliver personally wherever possible, this is a great for our customers, it takes all the pressure off of lifting and positioning and don’t forget we supply little triangular terracotta risers for the pot to sit on, this allows good drainage and air flow under the pot.
