The Orcio Con Leone is a new Italian anfora design that we have added to the Chelsea Collection, this is such an attractive oil jar, with a typically Florentine, small lion head decoration placed just at the bottom of the pot. This gorgeous terracotta pot will instantly transport you to the wonderful gardens and terraces of the Mediterranean.
We think this beautiful terracotta jar would look just as charming in a glasshouse as it would in a garden setting. Anfora and oil jars make the perfect focal points for those special areas of the garden where the eye is naturally drawn.
Our terracotta pots are handcrafted in Tuscany from Galestro clay, an iron-rich clay prized for its strength and natural frost resistance. Each piece is hand moulded by experienced artisans and fired to high temperatures in the kiln to produce a strong, porous surface that breathes. The subtle variations in colour and texture are a mark of authenticity and the natural terracotta developes a beautiful patina over time that enhances a garden’s character.
