Vaso a Tortiglione

£1,395.00

Tortiglione means ‘twisted’ in Italian, and this pot has the most beautiful decoration of spiralling swirls and little cherub faces. It is a traditional Florentine design and a stunning vase of magnificent proportions.

This terracotta pot and all its decorations have been made by hand in Impruneta. The Galestro clay is hand pressed into moulds and is built up layer by layer. It then stands to air for a couple of weeks, the mould is then removed and allowed to air dry once more. When the pot is at the perfect stage of dryness it is fired at over 1000 degrees for a few days. It takes over 24 hours for the furnace to reach the optimum temperature.

The superb quality of the clay, the firing temperatures and the slow hand made method, ensures that Vaso Toscano pots are strong, frost proof and totally unique.

At 70cm, this pot offers ample capacity for a wide range of planting styles, though we believe an abundance of flowers would look particularly stunning. Something like a beautiful English, fragrant rose or a seasonal display of tulips in Spring and Dahlia and ornamental grasses and pretty annuals in Summer. Whatever the display the pot will be a super statement piece on the terrace, gracing an entrance or even in the border.

At Vaso Toscano, whenever possible, we arrange deliveries personally. This approach gives our customers peace of mind, delivers excellent value for money, and allows us to coordinate directly with you to arrange delivery at the time most convenient for you.
