This is a very special terracotta pot, its design is unique to our pottery and made exclusively for Vaso Toscano. The reference to Canada is completely unknown in the pottery! We have always been curious about it, the mould used to create this pot has been named the Canadese since the 1800s, so we will continue with its title. Some things don’t need to change!
This is a beautifully proportioned planter and at nearly 60cm internal diameter, it is one of the most popular sized pots useful for most planting requirements, beautifully decorated by hand and also very practical.
All our terracotta pots are made from Galestro clay which is found locally in Impruneta, Tuscany. Its warm, natural tones and subtle variations create a beautiful patina that deepens with time. Impruneta Galestro clay has a soft pink colour and grainy texture, this is due to the high iron content and limestone marls, and along with the high firing temperatures this makes our pots wonderfully frostproof and strong.
The Canadese has a beautiful rim which is great for handling the pot and its shape and design is perfectly balanced, the pot is adorned with simple crossing oak branches and acorns and rings of numerous beads, you can’t help but run your hands over it. A very tactile and really quite a weighty pot.

In the UK, where possible we like to deliver personally, this way we can ensure to place your pot for you or leave it in a safe place for you if you are not going to be at home. Let us do the lifting!
Delivery times are usually very quick when the pot is in stock, we do carry a large amount of stock but occasionally we sell out of a particular design, especially after The Chelsea Flower Show. Don’t worry we are always having more pots to be made on a regular basis.
